UK PENAL CODE: CHALLENGES FACING THE AFRICAN MIGRANT

Many African migrants face challenges of understanding how the law operates in the United Kingdom.

Many fail to know when to seek  legal help, or leave things till late. When it comes to legal matters many in our African community rely only on the information they gather from friends and on the internet.

Before you know it, many African Migrants are already having a lot of problems with the law within their first three years of arriving in Britain.

Recently two Ministers of Parliament of African descendancy had problems with the law which eventually affected their jobs, Can this be due to some form of cultural orientation? Does our culture, or belief play any role in the way we approach UK laws ? Are African migrants receiving adequate education on how the law operates in the United Kingdom? How does an African migrant know he is receiving fair hearing and justice, What basic rights do you have as a person living in the United Kingdom in case you find yourself facing the law, How does your criminal records affect your life in the United Kingdom?

Many and more of these questions will be answered in our February 2019 edition of Life Empowerment Sunday.

Be part of this talk to enrich your knowledge as Mr Karibo Lawson discusses these issues.

You will be blessed you came.

Date: Sunday February 10, 2019.
